Leaving Grenada

I am at the airport, all checked in and through security. Plane is here and it looks like an on time departure.

It’s been an exciting two weeks: completing purchase and final repairs (well, almost), sailing her down to Grenada, getting to know the boat much better, and then getting her hauled out and prepared for hurricane season. Exciting and fun – and exhausting too.

Thanks a million, Brad! I would have never been able to do this without you. You’re a good man and it’s been real fun with you.

We spend this morning chilling and Brad takes me around the next headland to the neighboring bay where there is a small marina with a resort style compound. This is where Brad’s wife Sanna has her acupuncture practice.

It’s a beautiful spot, named after the old lighthouse ship that’s moored in the marina and has been turned into an event venue.

The local mode of transport here is more the dinghy than the car and Brad gives his kids a ride to their friends “next bay” while I explore.

Then it is time to say goodbye and head out. I snap one last picture of my friend Brad “in his office” as he writes an invoice to a client. Definitely beats the view from my office!

Speaking of: it is time I head back to work. Will take a bit to readjust to work life. But I also look forward to being back home, getting back to biking and swimming, and enjoying the last few weeks together before Kristoffer graduates from Highschool and leaves the house. Can you believe it? Empty nesters!

This is probably my last post for a few weeks. I’ll provide occasional updates as there are news to report and our trip draws nearer.

Thanks for following along and see you all again come October!
